St. Joseph Park Board
Minutes from Oct. 19, 2009
Members Present: Cory Ehlert, Lonnie Abbott, Bruce Berghorst
City Staff: Terry Thene
Call to Order: 7:00 PM
Approval of Minutes: Motion by Lonnie, seconded by Bruce. Minutes approved without changes.
Approval of Agenda: Motion by Lonnie, seconded by Bruce. Agenda approved with next meeting date changed from Nov. 16
to Nov. 23
Treasurers Report: Motion by Bruce to approve, seconded by Lonnie. Treasurer’s report approved.
Capital Improvement Plan—Centennial Park
The Board discussed changing the playground layout of the new equipment and border/fall area for Centennial Park. We are
still waiting for a revised playground layout plan from the playground equipment vendor(s). The plans we received were
incorrect.
Capital Improvement Plan – 2010
The Board reviewed the Park Board Capital Improvement plan and made minor changes as noted on the CIP data sheets.
Liaison and Staff Notes
We had a request from one of the directors of the Eagle Scouts in St. Joseph inquiring about possible projects that an area Eagle
Scouts could work on. The Board came up with the following suggestion that Bruce will relay to the Eagle Scouts:
1. Picnic tables, benches, trash cans – Northland Park
2. City of St. Joseph Welcome signs with landscaping at high traffic locations
3. Monument repair – Monument Park
4. Water fountains with pavers – Millstream Park
Next meeting: City Hall—Monday, November 23 at 7 PM
