Re: Permit Activity Comparison Report
This memo is a report and comparison of total permit activity for the years 2005 —
2008. The reports show the total number of permits issued, the total project value
and the total permit fee revenue collected for the respective years.
This information has been summarized in tabular charts. In the tabular charts, I have
listed the total number of new single family dwelling units added each year as well as
the new commercial permits for the year.
The total fee revenue shown represents only the building permit fees and the plan
review fees collected at the time of permit issuance. Other fees collected such as
surcharge, SAC and WAC, park fees and storm water fees are not included.
The dwelling units added include only the new single family dwellings and town
houses. It does not include manufactured homes. The permits issued for
manufactured homes are for replacement of manufactured homes moved out. The
net result is the same number of manufactured homes with which we began the year.
The Permits Issued and Fees Report Summary is a summarized report of all permit
activity for each year showing only the totals. This is a summary of the year end
report supplied with our December billing each year.
The list of commercial projects includes the new construction projects, which I have
highlighted in yellow, and the major remodeling type projects. These are itemized in
anticipation of question about the type of projects they are. The new elementary
school is included with the 2007 Commercial projects. Because of Inspectron Inc.'s
good standing with the State Codes Division and our Delegation Agreement we have

with the state to do state projects that $104,500 of permit revenue stayed in the
community rather than have it go to the state.
I will be in attendance for the Council meeting to review this report and answer any
questions the council members may have.
