Old Business
Centennial - There is concern we went over budget on the Centennial project. It needs
to be broken into two separate projects — one for the new building and one for the
remodel. We think we had a budget of $115,000 for the new building and rest was for
the remodel. Lori will separate the expenses for each project and report back next month.
New Business
Potential projects: Northland Hills — potential park funding of $9114 - but nothing else
on the horizon.
Northland Park: Has there been a grant application make for trails there? Ask Judy.
Sign Ordinance: A request has been make to sell signage at Memorial Park. Does the
Park Board recommend we grant this request? These changes need to be approved by the
City Council and the Planning Commission. Cory will check with the Rec Assn. about
the request and find out where the money goes. A concern was voiced over the potential
content of the signs. Motion by Cory Ehlert/2 "d by Lonnie Abbott — The Park Board
approves the sign ordinance amendment to allow signs at Memorial Park.
Wobegon Trail — Is there an update on the extension to the Wobegon Trail? Did the
other cities approve it? Symanietz — The City Council did tot .-approve. They asked the
county to come back with more information on where the money is coming from.
Symanietz will give a follow -up next month.
Capitol Improvements — Our budget is $56,200. We would like to complete the
Northland project, finish Millstream by moving the playground from Northland, we
might have to push back the plans for Cloverdale due to budget shortfalls and still have
plans for a city wide trail. February meeting will be dedicated to prioritizing projects for
2008.
Park Planning — Bartlett - The RFP for park planning has a deadline of mid - February.
More information should be available for our next meeting.
City Liaison - Symanietz — Will look for potential monies for help on trails.
Adjournment: 8:13 p.m.
Next Meeting — February 25, 2008 at 7 p.m. — City Hall
Respectfully submitted by Alison Brown Bell in Chuck Muske's absence.
