BACKGROUND INFORMATION: As you are aware the Dr. Mary Edwards, SCSU completed an economic
impact study for the City. A portion of the study examined the potential impact of residency changes at
CSB /SJU on the local market, including rental properties.
The EDA has continued residency changes, as directed by the City Council. The EDA has conducted
outreach to landlords attending a meeting last October relating to the SCSU study. At the meeting
several landlords indicated a willingness to serve on a working group to examine transition strategies
related to rental housing changes. Some of those landlords continued to indicate a desire to serve on
such a working group.

ATTACHMENTS: None.
REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Consideration of EDA's request to authorize formation of a working
group to examine transition strategies related to rental housing changes.
