BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This was brought up last year and the Fire Board decided to pay for the
class only and not pay any training time to the member. However, this year when we did our last hiring,
two out of the three are also EMT's. The class alone is $295.00 and this comes out of our training
budget. If we have this cost every year, that would take about an 1/8 of my training budget.
BUDGET /FISCAL IMPACT: Cost of Class: $295.00
Cost of the Training Hours : 28 Hours @ $10.00 /hr
Cost of Class Book: $45.00
Total Cost per Member = $620.00
ATTACHMENTS: None
REQUESTED ACTION: Have the Fire Board decide if the cost should be paid out of the Departments
budget.
