Section 52.06: BUILDING PERMITS REQUIRED
No person shall erect, alter, wreck, or move construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move,
demolish or change occupancy of any building or part thereof with the City of St. Joseph,
without first securing a building permit. No person shall install, modify or perform other work on
a plumbing or mechanical system within any structure (other than routine maintenance or having
a cost or value of $2,000 or less) without first securing the necessary plumbing or mechanical
permit. The application for a building permit shall be accompanied by a plan showing the
dimensions of the lot to be built upon, the size and location of the building upon the lot and any
accessory buildings to be erected, the use to which the intended building is to be put, and the
estimated cost thereof. The application for a plumbing or mechanical permit shall be
accompanied by a description of the work to be performed and other information as deemed
necessary by the Building Inspector. If the proposed work complies with the Minnesota State
Building Code and the regulations adopted by the State of Minnesota, as well as all of the
Ordinances of the City of St. Joseph, the Building Inspector shall issue a permit therefore
conditioned upon the applicants compliance with all of the State Laws and City Ordinances. All
shall be obtained at this time.
