Jeff Karnik turned in a letter and retired from the Department on December 14th 2010. He has served
on the Department for a little over 22 year.
Brian Orcutt retired for the Department on January 20th, 2011. He has also served on the Department
for a little over 22 years.
This leaves us with 27 active members. At our last Fire Board meeting, the Board agreed to open up
applications for the Fire Department in January. The process has started with a few applications being
turned in. All applications must be turn in by February 11th. After that the Departments Investigating
committee will meet and have an oral interview and a physical agility test with each applicant. From
there they will get a background check and physical with an anticipated start date of April 12th. The Fire
Board will need to either have a special meeting around that time to ok the selection or give the Fire
Chief and the City a verbal ok at tonight's meeting.
Also, Bill Wasner has told me that he will be retiring for the Department at the end of May or beginning
of June of this year.
