Orderly Annexation: Deutz stated that, today, he received a public hearing notice regarding some rezoning of the industrial zoning district in the Orderly Annexation Area and surrounding areas. He questioned the purpose of the hearing. Weyrens explained that, previously, a new board was created to handle issues in the Orderly Annexation Area. In the Urban Expansion Area, there are some properties that are zoned Industrial. Rezoning those properties does not change the use; rather it allows the Joint Planning Board to act on all requests. Weyrens added that all land uses should be consistent with the future land use. Deutz expressed his dissatisfaction with how this was presented to the affected property owners. Weyrens stated that she would contact the Stearns County and see if a notice clarifying the process could be forwarded to all property owners. January Meeting: Kalinowski questioned whether January 3 is a holiday or whether or not they will conduct their meeting. December 6, 2011 Page 2 of 2 Board Vacancy: Rieke questioned whether or not a new member will be appointed to the Planning Commission once Schultz takes office as Mayor.
