Phone: 630- 351 -9007 • Fax: 630- 351 -9009 • www.antenex.com SCADAYAGIT" Installation Guide Thank you for choosing the Antenex O SCADAYAGITM antenna. The SCADA YAGITM is fully welded and gold anodized for durability, corrosion protection and for an accurate radiation pattern. Safety Guidelines 1. The AntenexO SCADA YAGITM installations should only be performed by trained_ personnel. 2. Use extreme caution when installing this antenna. Electrocution and /or death can occur if this antenna comes in contact with or comes near electric power lines. 3. Do not secure the SCADA YAGITM mast to any structure unless the antenna is electrically bonded to the tower and the tower is well grounded for lightning protection. SCADAYAGITM Installation Instructions (See Reverse) copynght© MMI ANTENEX® SIGNAL X -=== -ROPO ANTENES EMS 2000 -205 Bloomingdale Road • Glendale Heights, Illinois 60139 U.S.A. Phone: 630- 351 -9007 Fax: 630- 351 -9009 • www.antenex.com SCADAYAGITM Installation Guide 1. Upon receipt of the SCADA YAGITM check the antenna and associated parts for damage or discrepancies. Notify carrier or manufacturer immediately. 2. Check the SCADA YAGIT^ VSWR and tuning frequency, prior to installation to verify tuning. Remember, surrounding objects, earth, ground and the tuning engineer all have a great effect on VSWR and resonant frequency. Obstacles in the pattern of the antenna can shift the resonant frequency lower by up to 1 MHz. 3. Then inspect the feed connector, ensuring that it is appropriate for the application. 4. Assemble the SCADA YAGITm as shown on the assembly sheet. 5.Clamp the antenna securely to the tower, ensuring that the mast points upwards with the feed -line down. 6. Ensure that the SCADAYAGI TM is solidly grounded. Do not rely on feed cable for a ground return. Secure feed line and transmission line to tower. 7. Always weatherproof the cable connection. Failure to do so will degrade the antenna signal over time. 8. Check that the drain hole on the dipole is facing the ground. The red sticker denotes "up." 9. Upon final installation, ensure that the antenna has been securely fixed, that the antenna is assembled correctly, and that all connections have been weatherproofed. WARNING! YOU CAN BE KILLED IF THIS ANTENNA COMES NEAR OR IN CONTACT WITH AN ELECTRIC POWER LINE. ALWAYS USE CAUTION WHEN INSTALLING THIS ANTENNA.
