Regional Sustainability Plan
St. Cloud City Council Member George Hontos briefly explained the history of building
the sustainability plan. He indicated a committee formed and eventually decided it would
be best to work with the Joint Planning District on developing the plan. Mr. Hontos also
explained that the draft plan is a guideline or working document that will act as a
beginning of the dialogue when considering many future projects. Mr. Glaesman shared
the executive summary of the plan and reiterated the plan is a framework of many
meetings of the sustainability committee. He stated the committee will be responsible to
see the plan is being followed and eventually they hope to have a single source contact
for the area when sustainability is considered. A celebration of the plan is scheduled for
late January 2011.
Regional Collaborative
Waite Park Police Chief Dave Bentrud presented a power point of the Service Innovation
Task Force he has been a part of since the summer. He explained the history of the

to the legislature in January. He answered questions and indicated a more in depth draft
of the recommendations can be viewed online.
