AGENDA ITEM: Six Wheeler / DNR Grant
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: We would like to start the process of replacing our ATV that we use at
grass fires. It has been a great piece of equipment to have during grass fires, but has seen it's better
days. We have been budgeting for this each year and have $13,000 in this fund after 2011. We have
been doing some checking and believe we could make this work.
The DNR has opened up there grants for the year.. Last year we tried to write a grant through them to
replace the six wheeler, but did not receive it. After doing some more checking with the DNR, they said
that the chances of us getting money for replacing the machine are not very good but they are good if
we write it for equipment on the new machine. This is a 50/50 grant with a maximum of $5,000. A new
pump and tank will cost around $5,000.00.

purchasing a new different ATV.
