Assessment Abatement
The City of St. Joseph could apply
• Provides assessment abatement to eligible
households in the reconstruction project area.
• If awarded, the grant would pay for the entire
assessment of all eligible households.
-Grant pays for the assessments that affect very low -
income (VLI) households.
• A VLI household is defined as a household having
a total income of 50% or less of the Stearns County
median income. We would identify how many
households fit this criteria through an income survey.
