Meeting Minutes, July 25, 2011
Members Present; Lonnie Abbott (Secretary), John Anderson (Chairman), Andrew Deuhs,
Marguerite Fogerty, Chad Hausman, Sharon Young, Bob Loso (Councilor Liaison), Terry Thene
(Staff Liaison).
Members Absent; None
Meeting Called to Order; 6:30pm
Approval of Minutes; Motion to Approve — John, 2 "d- Lonnie; Approved!
Approval ofAgenda; Motion to Approve — Lonnie, 2nd- Marguerite; Approved!
Treasurers Report, Motion to Approve — No changes so it was not reviewed.
Liaison Reports;
Bob Loso —
a. Bob feels the money for the scoreboard at Schneider Field should be paid for with Park
Board development funds.
Terry Thene —
a. The damage at Centennial Park continues. Terry and Police Chief Jansky
are currently looking into purchasing surveillance cameras to place in the parks to
prevent continued vandalism. Anyone with information please notify the police
immediately.
b. When visiting the Klinefelter Park during the meeting, by Park Board members Location
of Bathroom and second parking lot were discussed.
Old Business;
a. Review Saint Ben's park dedication proposal — John Greer from Saint Benedict
development was on hand and a discussion about a proposed strip of land on the south
boundary of the development being the development park dedication. The park board
discussed and decided that dedication funds were more appropriate verses land
dedication. Motion made by Chad that the Park Board take development park dedication
funds in lieu of land. Seconded by Lonnie, Motion unanimously Approved!
b. It was also discussed about the phases or how the development will take place. John
Greer said everything except out lot A on the plat layout would start this fall.
c. Clarification of motion to forward County Road 2 Trail project. In the June meeting
minutes, some wording was inadvertently omitted and clarified. Lonnie recognized the
omission, corrected them and re -sent them to all concerned parties the very next day.
New Business;
Classification of parks for expenditures of lost monies— Park Board Chair, John, will
develop information gathered from Park Board members on park classification.
b. Other- Park Tours, Starting at Klinefelter Park at 7:30p
• Bathroom, Parking Lot, and Gazebo were discussed.
Adiournment; Motion to Adjourn — Lonnie, second John. Approved!
Next Meeting, August 22, 2011 at 6:30pm in City Hall, followed by a site tour of Millstream
Park at 7:30pm.
