AGENDA ITEM: Recommendations of Officers
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This year, the Assistant Fire Chief and 3 Captains terms will expire on
November 1st, 2011. Each fire fighter can apply to any position as long as they meet the minimum
requirements. We received 1 applicant for Assistant. Fire Chief and that was the current Assistant Chief
Justin Honer. We had 4 applicants for Captain and they were Ken Jacobson, current Captain, Mark
Winter, current Captain, Paul Phillipp, current Captain, and Shirlie Brill. The Fire Department's
investigating committee meet and recommend the following:
Assistant Chief Justin Honer 2011— 2013
Captains
Ken Jacobson 2011- 2013
Mark Winter 2011- 2013
Paul Phillipp 2011- 2012
BUDGET /FISCAL IMPACT: None
ATTACHMENTS: None.
REQUESTED ACTION: Recommend the City Council accept the appoints as recommended by the Fire
Investigating Committee and Fire Board.
