HomeMy WebLinkAbout[05] Fire Board Matters cm' OF ST-MSe:ax Council Agenda Item 5 (a -c) MEETING DATE: November 3, 2011 AGENDA ITEM: Fire Board Matters SUBMITTED BY: Administration /Fire Board BOARD /COMMISSION /COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: The Fire Board will be meeting on November 1, 2011 and recommendations will be forwarded. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The Council authorized the purchase and bonding of the fire pumper truck with $ 400,000 financed through bond proceeds. The remaining balance was to be funded through sale of existing truck and budgeted funds. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Surplus Truck: The City accepted bids on the 1995 Fire Truck and established a minimum bid of $ 60,000. One bid was received from the City of El Rosa. The City Attorney prepared the Purchase Agreement which has been executed by El Rosa and was accompanied by a check in the amount of $ 3,000. Requested Action: Accept the bid of El Rosa and authorize the Mayor and Administrator to execute the purchase agreement. Fire Pumper Truck Bid: The City accepted bids on a new pumper truck and only received one bid from Rosenbauer. The Fire Board will be forwarded a recommendation. Pager Replacement: The Fire Board will be considering a request to purchase and replace pagers, a recommendation from the Fire Board will be forwarded.
