Background:
Councilors Mr. Randy Schmitz, d.b.a. Scenic Specialties has submitted the attached application to the
Steve Frank Business Facade Architectural Grant Program. Mr. Schmitz contemplates the addition of a
Bob Loso decorative fence and wildflower plantings adjacent to his property on County Road 133.

Dale Wick As you know, the BFA Grant Program covers design and construction costs associated with
improvements to property that are visible from a public right -of -way. The installation of
EDA landscaping is specifically allowed as a use under the current guidelines.

The EDA's 2011 capital allocation included funding for BFA Grant applications and other
revitalization efforts. The remaining balance is sufficient to cover additional BFA application.
BFA program oversight and authority for grant approval was delegated to the EDA.
Action:
EDA consideration of the grant application is kindly requested.
