AGENDA ITEM: Health Cards
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: About three years ago, the Fire Board made a change that every
member must obtain a class B with Tanker endorsement (CDL). They offered each member the use of a
truck and reimbursement of the cost of the license. Starting February 2nd of 2012, the State of Minnesota
now mandates that when you go to either take the test for the first time or when you renew your license,
you must have a valid Health Card. In order to get a Health Card, each member will have to schedule a
physical at a cost of $75.00. The card is good for two years.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $75.00 per member every two years ($2250.00)

REQUESTED ACTION: Discuss with the Fire Board how important this is and have them approve the
change that each member must now have a Health Card.
