BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Unit # 5 is our rescue rig and responds to 99.9% of our calls.
This truck was purchased new back in 1997 at a cost of $82,034.21 with an expected life of 10 years. In
2011, the Fire Board approved to purchase a New Fire Pumper Truck and agreed with the Fire Chief that
the board would look at replacing this unit this year, 2012. The truck was out of service four times last
year and has already been out twice this year for repairs.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: Estimated cost of $100,000.00 to $125,000.00

REQUESTED ACTION: Discuss with the Fire Board if and when the department can start looking at a
replacement for this truck.
