another $34,000.

long -range.

project is complete and they will be replaced when the weather permits.

Old Business;
a. John Anderson is going to check on the availability of a Legacy Grant to restore
the monument. Terry Thene will re -send the estimates for the project.
b. Pat Schneider attended the meeting to determine where the Park Board stands on
his request for funds to install an electronic scoreboard for the baseball field. He
shared photos of sample scoreboards. He currently has donations of $5,000 to be
put toward the total cost of $18,000 to $20,000. Sharon made the motion to
support the installation of the electronic scoreboard where $7,500 should be
contributed by Park Board Development Funds, $7,500 paid with local sales tax
monies and $5,000 from local contributions. The motion was seconded by Lonnie.
c. Regarding the Cloverdale Park/Community Garden, public response has been
low. The Board would like to read any responses received in order to determine if
there is a demand for such a project. The option of using space near the water
plant was discussed. Bob Loso suggested that the Park Board plan a trip to
Cloverdale Park and invite residents from that area to give us their input, since it
will be closest to their homes. This idea was met with a favorable response.
New Business;
a. A possible date was set for an Earth Day city -wide park clean-up. The activity
will be held on Saturday, April 21, in the afternoon. John Anderson suggested that
we contact groups to work at each park and conclude with a cook out. After some
discussion we determined that the following groups would be contacted by
members: Summer Rec. (Millstream), Boy Scouts (Klinefelter), Girl Scouts
(Centennial and Monument Parks), and Baseball Team (Baseball Park).
b. Monument spring plantings will be completed by Marguerite with annuals. She
requested some edging to be installed at the site. She and Terry will stop by and
look over the area when the snow melts. Marguerite also expressed concern about
the appearance of the perennials located near other monument. Terry said the
local Legion had that area planted. He will discuss this with them.
c. Sharon shared with the group that registration for Summer Rec. will be held on
Saturday, March 3 She has been in contact with the College of St. Benedict to
use their field. She was told that they need liability insurance to access that
location. She is waiting to hear from insurance agent regarding this issue.
