MEETING DATE: May 9th, 2012
AGENDA ITEM: Fire Chief's Report
• Class B License Report: Brent Johnson, Brian Arms, and Mike Schmotzer two year probation
will be on July 14th 2012. As of today, all three have still not gotten their Class B license.
Brent Johnson's road test is May 11th and Brian Arms' test is May 10th. No word on Mike
Schmotzer's test. If any of these three do not have their license by the 14th of July, we will
suspend them until it is taken care of. Sharon Young, who was hired in July of 2011 also
needs to get this completed. Of our last three members, Mike Folkerts, Cory Molitor, and
Ron Schmidt, only Cory needs to get this taken care of.
• With the Fire Boards approval at out last meeting, we have ordered new turn out gear for 10
members and have 4 members that are on probation fitted for gear and will be ordered when
they have all of their requirements done.
• Sharron Young has past her FF1 class and is State Certified, she has also pass her First
responder at the beginning of the year.
• Mike Folkerts & Cory Molitor have completed their First Responder in April and along with
Ron Schmidt are waiting for a FF1 class to start. We are very pleased with the enthusiasm
that these three are showing on the department so far.
• Progress on the new pumper is on the way. The chasse should be showing up at Rosenbauer
at the beginning of this month for the installation of the pump, tank, and box of the truck.
Still on a target for delivery in late August / early September of 2012.
• ATV replacement is 99% completed at a cost of $18,638.87 (there are a few minor
adjustments to the trailer to make it easy to Toad /unload), and was put into service on April
24th. We had 1 bid for the old ATV/Trailer of $5,056.00, (The board ok'ed the sell with a
minimum of $5,000) and was sold to Fred Honer.
