Dale Wick The EDA met in a joint visioning session with the City Council, Park Board and Planning
Commission on June 6, 2012 to discuss current and long range plans for the downtown.

Footprint — defining the physical boundary of the downtown

• Farmers Market
• Other events
Greenspace
• Development of a courtyard /park
• Landscaping themes
Parking
• Completing a parking study
• Identifying future parking lots
• Planning links from parking to the businesses
Creation of Commercial Spaces
• Conversion of rental housing to commercial lots
• Programming to assist current land owners and future businesses
Development of a Theme
• Benches, planters,- streetscape
• Design Guidelines
Marketing the Downtown
• Signs at the entrances to the city, along the Wobegon Trail

Incorporation of Studies and Plans already completed.
Action.
The EDA is asked to develop an Action Plan for the development of a Master Downtown Plan
plan for the Downtown which would identify:
1. A process to include stakeholders in the process
2. The unified vision for the downtown
3. Steps to accomplish the vision
4. A phased plan for implementation and
5. Funding sources to accomplish identified goals.
