OMATIMA1 OM ORM Mann MEETING DATE: August 1, 2012 AGENDA ITEM: Water Softner BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The department takes pride in this fire hall and all the equipment that is in it. Since we moved into this building back in 1997, we have noticed that the city water is not ideal for some of our applications. We have issues with some of our water tank monitors in our trucks and all of our trucks have white water spots on them from washing them and we can't get them off. Talking with our pump manufactures and auto body specialist, they both say it's because of the hard water we have. BUDGET /FISCAL IMPACT: $2,000.00 - $5,000.00 ATTACHMENTS: Yes REQUESTED ACTION: Discuss with the Fire Board how a water softener would benefit the department , especially with the NEW pumper coming, and get their approval to move forward with installing one in the fire hall.
