Background.
Dale Wick The Business Retention and Expansion Survey is currently available at
EDA http: / /www.surveymonkey.com /s /StJosephBRE. An email and /or letters were sent to eleven
businesses on August 1, 2012 explaining the program and requesting their participation. As of
Doug Danielson August 8, 2012, three businesses had responded with the on -line completion of the application.
Steve Frank Follow -up phone calls were made to the remaining nine.

Tom Skahen As of August 15 six businesses have responded. We have been asked to speak at the
Dale Wick September 12, 2012 Chamber meeting regarding the BRE Survey Program. We hope this will
encourage broader based participation. We recommend the mailing of letters /emails to the
remainder of our business prior to the meeting.
A quick review of the surveys returned include concern about property taxes and parking in the
downtown.
Action.
EDA members are asked to provide a schedule with their availability to meet with businesses,
should meetings be requested.
