Comings and Goings ....... „..~ r CITY COUNCIL-The November 4, 2008 ~ ~~ ~ Election resulted in Al Rassier winning the seat for Mayor and Renee Symanietz and Bob Loso wining the seats for Council. Mayor Rassier will serve a term of two years begin- ning in January 2009 and Symanietz and Loso will serve four years terms beginning in January 2009. CON- GRATULATIONS Al, Renee and Loso. THANK YOU- To Rick Schultz for his service on the City Council. Rick filled the vacancy on the Council when Richard Carlbom resigned. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the City of St. Joseph. THANK YOU- To Randy Torborg for ~ ~ ~ his years as Fire Chief for the St. Joseph Fire Department. The EDA is now offering a free service designed to help business owners make a great first impression. A design team will meet with individual busi- ness owners to create storefront concepts and answer ques- tions. The local design team comprised of draftspersons, designers, code experts and EDA representatives. The storefront design service is intended to help business owners `think outside of the box' or envision potential storefront changes. The design services can be individually tailored to business needs and will respect design standards established by the City. In addition, experts will be avail- able to answer questions regarding building code and finan- cial incentives for business owners. Applications are being accepted Annually the Mayor accepts applications for positions on the City Boards and Commissions. Applications for the Planning Commission, Park Board and Planning Commis- sion can be found on the City website: cityofstjoseph.com or they can be picked up in the City Offices. They will be picked up on the follow- ing two Thursdays January 8 and January 15.
