Pre - registration deadline is October 16th. ABSENTEE BALLOTS— You can cast your absentee ballot in person at the Stearns County Auditor's Office or by mail. TO VOTE BY MAIL you must first submit a written application to the Stearns County Auditor. Application forms are available in the City Offices, and on the Stearns County website at http: / /www.co.stearns.mn.us/ Government /Elections. TO VOTE IN PERSON you may do so at the Stearns County Auditor's Office, 705 Courthouse Square beginning September zest . Office hours are Mon - day- Friday 8:oo AM until 4:30 PM. The last day to cast you ballot in person is Monday, November 5th. ELECTION DAY REGISTRATION — Minnesota provides for same day registration provided that you: will be at least 18- years -old on Election Day v, Are a citizen of the United States v, Will have resided in Minnesota for 20 days immediately preceding Election Day • Have any felony conviction record discharged, expired, or completed • Are not under court - ordered guardianship where a court has revoked your voting rights or have not been ruled in competent by a court of law. CITY ELECTION —You will have the opportunity to cast one vote for Mayor ( 2 year term) and up to two votes for Councilor (4 yr term). With the onset of cooler weather, the City sees an increase in recreationallbon fires. While recreational fires are allowed within the city limits , we ask that you use common sense and abide by the regulations in the St. Joseph Code of Ordinance. The Ordinance defines a recreational fire as: a fire set for cooking, 1 warming, ceremonial or esthetic purposes, which is not more than three feet in diameter by three feet high, which has the ground five Q feet from the base of the fire cleared of all combustible material, and E which is contained within a metal ring, rock, concrete or other similar non - combustible material surrounding the base of the fire. Remember, it is illegal to burn trash or lawn waste. The City of St. Joseph provides a compost area for the disposal of lawn and garden waste. HYDRANT FLUSHING October 8 thru October 15th As the hydrant in your neighborhood is serviced you may experience low water pressure or discol- ored water. WINTER PARKING RESTRICTIONS BEGIN NOV 1ST St. Joseph Code of Ordinances No. 84.05 prohibits parking on any City Street during the hours of 2:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Any vehicle parked in violation is subject to immedi- ate towing at the owner's expense. In the event thatyou have visitors and need to leave a car parked on the street, please contact the Police Department at 320.363.8250.
