AGENDA ITEM: Turn Out Gear
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: According to the NFPA,our Fire Fighting Turn Out gear is only good for
10 years. Last year the Fire Board approved 14 new sets, but I was able to stretch a few out and get by
with 9 sets. I have 8 sets that will be out of date this year and need to replace. Each set,which is the
pants and coat,cost about$1,575.00. (Next year, 2014,we are only looking at 4 new sets)
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:8 Turn Out gear sets @$1,575.00 each= $12,600.00
ATTACHMENTS: None
REQUESTED ACTION: Get the Fire Boards approval to purchase 8 new sets of out dated Turn Out gear.
