JOINT AREA CITIES MEETING
Tuesday, January 29, 2013
Hosted by the city of Sartell
A socialldinner gathering was held at 5 :30 p.m. at Blackberry Ridge Golf course & Event center in Sartell.
CALL TO ORD ER:
Sartell Mayor, Joe Perkse, called the St. cloud Area .Joint cities meeting to order at 6:00 PM and offered
appreciation to WSB for sponsoring the cost for the banquet meeting location.
ATTENDANCE:
The following individuals were in attendance and introduced themselves:
Members:
St. AuguSta: Council !embers Jim Diehl, Paul Reinert, Donna Schultzenberg and city
Administrator Rill McCabe.
St. cloud: council Members John Liibert, Nancy Lohman, Jeff Goerger, Dave !asters and Jeff
.Johnson, and city Administrator Michael Williams.
St. J0 Mayor Rick Schultz, Council !embers Bob Loso, Renee Symanietz and Steve Frank,
and city Administrator Judy Weyrens.
Sartell: Mayor Jae Perske, Council !embers Sarah Jane Nicoll, Steve Hennes, David
Peterson, Amy Braig- Lindstrom and city Administrator Pattj Gartland.
Sauk Ra _ids: Mayor Brad Gunderson and city Administrator Ross Olson'
Waite Park: Mayor Rick biller, council Members cluck Schneider and bike Lindquist.

M E ETI NG NOTES OF MAY 31 2011 (ST. JOSEPH):
Motion by council !ember !asters seconded by Administrator Williams unanimously passed approving the
meeting notes for the October 30# 2012 meeting.
LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES - UPDATES & ADVOCACYt
Doug 1 eizhaar - central b N Transportation Alliance /CMTA distributed a single page handout and offered
comment on cbTA accomplishments in funding equity outcomes (TH 10 & cR 2, TH 15 & cR 12o diverging
diamond interchange, and TH 15 & 33rd Street Interchange), replacement of the DeSoto bridge and
expansion at the St. cloud Regional Airport. Priority for 2013 legislative session i's focused on Interregional
c orn idrmobility.
Bradley Peterson — Flaherty & Hood, contracted lobbyist for 6 city initiative to extend local option sales tax
authority. Bradley gave a brief overview of the 2012 legislative outcomes for the LOST reauthorization and
highlighted the new challenges being faced in the 2013 legislative session. He emphasized the 6 city
collaboration as a significant and positive uniqueness to our request and the positive outcomes attained for
significant regional infrastructure improvements with the existing authorization. He emphasized the need
for full engagement of all cities in continuing to advocate for passage of the extension.
Rep. Tim O #Driscoll & Rep. Zach Dorholt offered comments and observations on the session activities and
priorities to bate.
Patrick Hynes — Lid c provided feedback on the Governor's budget and tax reform proposal, including
revamping of the LGA formula.
