The City Council on April 25, 2013 ordered the improvement for
the 2013 Street Improvement Project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Engineer’s Office has been working on the plans so that the
project can be bid and constructed yet this year.

RESOLUTION 2013-022
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

2013 Street Improvement
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the council on April 25, 2013, the city engineer
(consulting engineer retrained for the purpose) has prepared plans and specifications for the
improvement known as the 2013 Street Improvement. The project is a bituminous overlay project
and affects the following area: Baker Street, from 2nd Avenue SE to 7th Avenue SE; 7th Avenue
SE from Baker Street to Minnesota Street E; Ridgewood Court, from Ridgewood Road (CR 134) to
the cul-de-sac, approximately 1,100 feet west of Ridgewood Road (CR 134); Cedar Street E, from
1st Avenue NE to Northland Drive; 1st Avenue NE, from Cedar Street to Date Street E; Date Street
E, from College Avenue N (CSAH 2) to 1st Avenue NE; Date Street W, from 1st Avenue NW to
College Avenue N (CSAH 2); and 1st Avenue NW, from CSAH 75 to Date Street W. The City
Engineer has presented such plans and specifications to the council for approval;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ST. JOSEPH,
MINNESOTA:
1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof,
are hereby approved.
2. The City Administrator shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in a
Construction Bulletin or Website an advertisement for bids upon the making of such
improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be
published twice, one week apart, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will
be opened and that the responsibility of the bidders will be considered by the council at
7:00 PMonJune 12, 2013, in the city council chambers of the city hall. Any bidder
whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an
opportunity to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be
considered unless sealed and filed with the City Administrator and accompanied by a cash
deposit, cashier’s check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Administrator for
5% percent of the amount of such bid.
