BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: The Cable Commission recommends
purchasing the equipment to enhance the broadcasting of meetings.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The proposed wireless microphone system will allow for multiple uses.
The receiver can be used with a handheld or lavaliere microphone. The main use would be in the council
chambers in the area of the podium and the projection screen area. When a presenter moves away from
the mic more than a foot their audio will not be recorded. For a brief discussion the handheld mic may
be used, for an extended discussion the wireless lav. mic. could be used.
The system could also be used outside of the building, for example could be connected to a PA sound
system for an outside event.
The equipment will be paid for using the peg access fess which as a fund balance over $ 10,000.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $ 1,974.63 Peg Access Fee
