AGENDA ITEM: Unit#1—Tank Fill Valve
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
We have been having issues with the Tank Fill Valve on Engine#1. This is not a factory issue or a
warranty issue. This is a Gate valve and it comes down to having 30 different fire fighters not getting to
use and enough, and they are opening and/or closing the valve to far which causes the valve to turn
hard or not at all. The new valve we would like to put in is a push and pull style, which is friendlier to
multiple users. The work would all be done on site by Emergency Apparatus Maintenance.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $ 2,492.88
ATTACHMENTS: Estimate For Repair
REQUESTED ACTION: Approval from the Fire Board to expend $ 2,492.88 to install a new push and pull
valve on engine#1.
