AGENDA ITEM: Membership
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
We had 2 fire fighters that have left the St.Joseph Fire Department. First was Eric Gillitzer,who has
been on the department since 2008. Eric has decided to purchase a house out of the area and turned in
has letter on October 7th,2013. Second was Jarret Crue,who started with the department in 2005.
Jarret found himself not having enough time for the department due to his family needs,work,and his
desire to go back to college. He turned his letter in on October 8th, 2013. This has put us down 2
members,which is the minimum number we like to see when we add new members. I would like to
start the hiring process for 2 new members after the first of the year,with the start date of the new
members starting no later than June 10th 2014.
BUDGET/FISCAI IMPACT: Up to$5,000.00 per new member for classes and gear over a two year
window.
