Dear Administrator Weyrens, EDA Chair Wick, and EDA Members:
Over the previous 13 years MDG has enjoyed working with the business community, City Council, EDA,
City Staff, and citizens on various economic development projects as the City's Economic Development
Consultant. We continue to see tremendous potential for continued growth and redevelopment in St.
Joseph's future. In 2013 we had the opportunity to work with the City, EDA, citizens, and a number of
business contacts on current plans /projects and those that are being planned for 2014. We feel
consistency in business contact and development is important.
The City last solicited requests for proposals from EDA consulting firms in January of 2012. MDG was re-
awarded the contract at that time.
We are very interested in continuing to assist the EDA and City with economic development projects.
Over the previous five years (2009 -2013) our contract rate has remained steady at $2,200 for 35 hours of
service per month (420 hours per year) or $62.86 per contracted hour.
We propose a two year contract (effective 2014 -2015) at a rate of $2,500 /month or $71.42 /hour. As in
years past, the contract amount does not reflect reimbursable expenses including mileage (at federal
reimbursement rate), long distance calls /faxes, etc. Please note our 2014 non - contract hourly rate is
$90 /hour for principal and $80 /hour for associate services.
We propose all other terms of the initial contract remain as is, including the ability of either party to
terminate the agreement with 30 days notice.
