AGENDA ITEM: DNR Grant
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Each year the Minnesota DNR has a Rural Fire Department Grant that
they send to all fire departments. Last year we were able to receive a grant for 2 new Backpack Blowers,
2 new pagers,and a Battery Charging Station with 6 new Batteries for our portable radios. The DNR
states it's a great idea to apply every year but you may not get it every year. We would like to write a
grant for 5 New Back Pack bags for fighting grass Fires and 2 additional Portable Radios.This is a 50/50
grant.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT:$2,500.00(which is half of the estimated cost)
ATTACHMENTS: No
REQUESTED ACTION: Have the Fire Board approve to write a grant to the DNR for the Back Pack Bags
and 2 Radios w/chargers.
