HomeMy WebLinkAbout[07b] Sign Purchase 7(b) Council Agenda Item MEETING DATE: August 7, 2014 AGENDA ITEM: Public Works Director Reports b) Sign Purchase SUBMITTED BY: Public Works BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION : PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION : The Council previously approved to budget for the purchase of street signs. The Main streets in the City were replaced in prior years with council approval. This was originally initiated by the federal sign reflectivity mandate. BACKGROUND INFORMATION : Staff has been replacing street signs in the City due to non reflectivity and damaged signs. The City had completed a sign inventory and identified street signs with non reflectivity. This purchase will cover the rest of the stamped non reflective signs in the City to be replaced in the City. After this purchase and installation the street signs and hardware for replacement will become a part of overlay and street reconstruction projects unless premature failure occurs. BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT : Purchase signs, post and hardware for $7.200.00. Move the remaining funds in CIP 1424 to seal coating CIP 1401, remove CIP 1424 ATTACHMENTS: Request for Council Action CIP 1424, map of embossed non reflective signs REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Staff requests council to authorize the purchase of street signs, post and hardware.
