J OSFPH www.cityoistjoseph.com DATE: August 20, 2014 Administrator Judy Weyrens MEMO TO: St. Joseph Economic Development Authority Mayor FROM: Cynthia Smith-Strack Richard Schultz RE: EDA Print Marketing Materials Councilors Steve Frank Background Bob Loso While discussing the annual budget at the July meeting, the EDA expressed an interest in updating a Renee Symanietz printed map produced several years ago(I refer to it as the Where's Waldo map). Dale Wick After the meeting I contacted and met with Joel Vogel from Rengel Pringing. We reviewed the EDA information contained on the map and potential strategies to update it from a marketing standpoint. Doug Danielson Vogel will be attending the EDA meeting to provide additional information and answer questions. Steve Frank Larry Hosch Vogel recommended creating tear-off map pads that could be placed around town at various Gary Osberg businesses and used to direct consumers to points of interest. Vogel has submitted the attached Dale Wick estimate for printing costs to create new artwork and print 250 pads each containing 50 maps sized 14" X20". Estimates: 12,500 maps (250 pads each containing 50 maps) including artwork $ 2,370.00 25,000 maps (500 pads each containing 50 maps) including artwork $ 3,677.15 Vogel's estimate is attached. At this time in our 2014 O/M budget we have $3,000 in a marketing line item. Action: Input is kindly requested. The following information is presented per your request: We will design and print a map of St. Joseph with the look similar to the last map. The size of the map will be 14" x 20" printed full color both sides on Pacesetter 60#Opaque text paper. We will then pad the maps in quantities of 50 per pad. 12,500 individual maps or 250 pads of 50 maps for$2,370.00. 25,000 individual maps or 500 pads of 50 maps for$3,677.15. We will also provide you with a pdf of the map to be used as you feel. The estimate#257562 is based on the general specifications listed above. Rengel Printing Company reserves the right to update this estimate after reviewing paper prices and your materials. Design charges may apply. This estimate is valid for 60 days. We may bill you up to 10% overruns at the per piece rate. Terms: net 30 on approved accounts, less 2% discount when paid within 14 calendar days. We look forward to providing you the above.
