MINUTES - Regional Human Rights Joint Powers Board

1. Roll Call and Introductions, the following were present: Chair Symanietz, Board Members
Steve Frank, Joe Perske, Amy Braig-Lindstrom, Nick Sauer, Paul Weber, Jeff Goerger;
Commission Chair Eunice Adjei-Bosompem, State DHR Enforcement Officers Richard Cousin
and Patrick Smith, and City Administrator Michael Williams.
2.Minutes of the Joint Powers Board Meeting held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 were
reviewed. It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes as written (Frank, Goerger),
approved.
3.Regional Human Rights Commission Comments. Brief comments were made by the Chair of
the Commission.
4.Regional Human Rights Staff Comments. Brief comments were made by State staff members.
There was discussion about future reporting criteria.
5.Appointments to the Regional Human Rights Commission. There was discussion to consider
applicants for one vacancy on the Regional Human Rights Commission. It was moved and
seconded to appoint Julie Pratt Blenker (Goerger, Frank), approved with Braig-Linstrom
abstaining. After further discussion it was moved and seconded to reconsider (Frank, Perske),
motion failed.
6.Other Business. A proposal to stagger the terms of Commissioners was considered and approved
(Goerger, Weber), approved.
7.Adjourn. It was moved and seconded to adjourn (Hennes, Frank), carried unanimously.
