Summary of City and St. Joseph and LELS Labor Contract Negotiations
The current labor contract expired on December 31, 2013. But, by operation of contract
language and law, the contract has continued to remain in force and effect.
There were 3 in-person negotiations and 3 mediation sessions between the City and LELS for a
new labor contract and an exchange of numerous proposals collectively by the parties. The
parties have reached a tentative agreement that is subject to approval by the City Council.
A summary of the new labor contract includes the following changes to the current labor
contract:

Union Require employee to work both more than 14 hours and 67 days in a calendar year to
