AGENDA ITEM: Fire Helmets
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Out of our 30 helmets, 29 were manufactured back in 1995. NFPA
standard states that helmets need to be replaced every 10 years. We have looked at a few options and
have come down to the Invader 664 style, which is very similar to what we have now. Our Relief
Association has also decided that through our Fundraising events, we are willing to donate up to
$2000.00 towards 30 new helmets. As for the old helmets, I believe we could offer them to current
members or through them into the garbage due to the liability of selling them to someone else.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $6,728.70 minus $2,000.00 donation from St. Joseph Relief Association for a
total of $4,728.70 (plus shipping).

REQUESTED ACTION: Fire Board approve 30 new Fire Helmets with the Relief's $2000.00 donation to
help of set the cost.
