Up Date Gear
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: NFPA standard states fire gear needs to be replaced every 10 years.
The Fire chief has been trying to spread this out to avoid a huge cost at one time by buying a few sets
each year. This year we have 3 current members that have out dated gear. They are Dan Muyres, Paul
Phillipp, and Dave Salzer.
We also have 3 members on their probation, which once they have all their minimum requirements
done, will be eligible for new gear. This may happen this year and the Fire Chief will get approval of this
by the Fire Board at a later meeting.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: 3 sets of gear, Pant and Coat, at an estimated cost of $1575.00 per set
ATTACHMENTS: None
REQUESTED ACTION: Fire Board approve the purchase of 3 sets of new gear to replace the out dated
gear.
Note: All current gear will have been updated and any new gear in the next 8 years will be for only new
members.
