Bob Loso RE: Location One/LOIS Community Profile and Available Sites Updates
Renee Symanietz
Dale Wick BACKGROUND
In 2014, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development(DEED)
EDA implemented a decision to subscribe to Location One Information System (LOIS), a national
Doug Danielson economic development building, site, and community database system. The subscription took
Larry Bosch the place of a database/mapping system known as Minnesota Prospector which was
Gary Osberg administered at the state level.
Rick Schultz
Dale Wick DEED's subscription allows every county and city access to LOIS free of charge. LOIS allows
users to search for buildings and sites in the City by location, square footage, acreage, and
building type. LOIS also allows communities to create and customize a community profile and
use the data to formulate a brochure.
Mapping, available site, and community profile information can be embedded into the City's
website so as to provide a continuously current listing of commercial/industrial land, sites, and
buildings to any interested party including companies and site selectors. I am allowing local
realtors access to the site listing application as well in hopes of keeping information as up-to-
date as possible.
I have spent quite a bit of time creating a community profile and creating an available site
database for easy editing/uploading to LOIS. I've also embedded a link to the data at our
available properties page at www.citvofstioseph.com
