HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015 [01] Jan 05 January 5, 2015 Page 1 of 1 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council and the Township Board met in a special session on Monday, January 5, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the St. Joseph City Hall. City Council Members Present: Mayor Rick Schultz. Councilors Dale Wick, Bob Loso, Renee Symanietz, Matt Killam. Administrator Judy Weyrens. St. Joseph Township Board Members Present: Chair Jeff Janssen, Supervisors Jerome Salzer and Brenda Stanger. Township Deputy Clerk Anne Meyer. Others Present: Chad Hausmann, Ross Rieke, Hal Undersander, Ralph Eiynck, Cory Ehlert, Don Thielman, Darlene Thielman, Ed Merking, Trent Merking, Hal Undersander, Mark Thompson, Paul Krey, City Engineer Randy Sabart, Developer Engineer Will Huston, Kevin Cox. Weyrens clarified that based on the executed MOU, the City Council and Township Board must meet jointly to consider any rezoning matters. Rezoning is the only matter whereby the Joint Planning Board is advisory to the City Council and Township Board. The MOU states that each Board must independently vote on the matter, during the joint meeting. It requires both the City and Township to affirm a rezoning. When questioned if they could vote on each matter together Weyrens stated that both the City and Township should vote on each rezoning independently as well. Notch Property Rezoning: Symanietz made a motion to accept the recommendation of the Joint Planning Board rezoning the following described property from the current UE to R10. The motion was seconded by Loso and passed unanimously. Property Description: the S%SW%NE%and the SM SE%NW 4, lying westerly of County Road 2 in Section 3, St. Joseph Township(124/29) containing approximately 40 acres. The property address is 31486 County Road 2, St. Joseph MN, 56374 Janssen made a motion to accept the recommendation of the Planning Board, rezoning the property described above from the current UE to R10. The motion was seconded by Stanger and passed unanimously. American National Bank Rezoning: Loso made a motion to accept the recommendation of the Joint Planning Board rezoning the following described property from the current UE to R10. The motion was seconded by Wick and passed unanimously. Property Description: Part of the NW%and NW 4 NE%lying easterly of County Road 121 and northeasterly of the Sauk River in Section 23, St. Joseph Township(124/29), containing approximately 143.6 acres Janssen made a motion to accept the recommendation of the Planning Board, rezoning the property described above from the current UE to R10.
