BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council approved the new sign Ordinance 52.11 on November
20, 2014; however, the summary publication was inadvertently missed. In order to publish the
amendment, the Council must approve the Resolution Authorizing Summary Publication.
Subsequently, Ordinances 52.31, 52.32, 52.33, and 52.34 for the zoning districts were modified to reflect
the agreed upon sign height to 20 feet.

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Authorize the Mayor and Administrator to execute Resolution 2015-
005, Authorizing Summary Publication.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE
AMENDMENTS
RECITALS:
WHEREAS, on, March 2, 2015, the City Council for the City of St. Joseph repealed the text to
Ordinance 52.11, entitled “SIGN ORDINANCE” and replaced it in its entirety; and
WHEREAS, on March 2, 2015, the City Council for the City of St. Joseph amended the
following Ordinances: 52.31 “B-1 CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT,” 52.32 “B-2 HIGHWAY
BUSINESS DISTRICT,” 52.33 “B-3 GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT,” 52.34 “L1 LIGHT
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT” to reflect the amended sign height in Ordinance 52.11, SIGN ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City of St. Joseph desires to publish the Ordinance by Summary Publication; and
WHEREAS, the full text of the amended Ordinances are available at the City Offices, 25 College
Avenue North or on the City website, www.cityofstjoseph.com.
THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
1. The City Council has reviewed the proposed Summary Publication and finds that the
summary of the Ordinance clearly informs the public of the intent and effect of the
Ordinance.
2. The City of St. Joseph directs the City Administrator to publish the Ordinance by
Summary Publication.
