Old Business:
a. Joe Town Snowtown
Considering that St. Cloud is planning a huge winter event at Heritage Park and we
would be competing, the plans for our event have been abandoned for this year. It
was the decision of the Board to consider plans for next winter. Andrew suggested a
snow sculpture contest in individual yards with the Mayor and a representative from
the Park Board as judges. A gathering could be held to announce the winner(s) and to
hand out prizes. We will discuss this and other possibilities at a future meeting.
b. Lions Shelter
John has not contacted anyone at this point to discuss this.
c. Meeting Locations
John suggested that we hold our meetings at various parks this spring and summer.
d. Earth Day
The date of Earth Day is April 22. The Girl Scouts want to do a clean up the
following weekend-on April 26tH
On April 28th the Park Board will meet at Cloverdale Park to do the tree planting.
New Business
a. Review of 2013
Money has been set aside for planning bathroom facilities at Klinefelter Park.
Cloverdale Park project is 50% complete.
b. Plan for 2014
A tentative date for a Grand Opening at Cloverdale Park has been set for June 24.
This event may include simple fare, and the opportunity to thank the Lions for their
generous donation.
Park Board meetings will continue to be held on the 4th Monday of each month. (see
attached schedule for meeting dates)
c. Other New Business
Bathrooms at Klinefelter
Terry suggested we move forward to use funds to begin planning the bathroom
facility at Klinefelter Park. The idea is to connect the bathrooms to the existing
Pavilion. A request to use the $4000 set aside for this project as well as businesses
contacted to help with the construction needs to be in written form and shared with
the City Council for approval. John suggested some kind of security system be
included.
Dog disposal bags at Klinefelter
As an attempt to measure the effectiveness of this, there will be a trial run. Terry will
price out equipment.
