DNR Grant
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Each year the Minnesota DNR has a Rural Fire Department
Grant that they send to all fire departments. Last year we were unable to receive a grant for 4 new
pump cans. We would like to write a grant for 3 new pagers, 2 new drip torch’s, and 5 lengths of 2 ½”
fire hose, The DNR states it's a great idea to apply every year but you may not get it every year. This is a
50/50 grant and the equipment asked for needs to either be for grass/brush fires or communication.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: $1200.00 (2-Pagers @ 600.00each, 2-Drip Torch’s @ 201.09 each, & 5-Lengths
of 2 ½” Fire Hose @ 154.11 each) (which is half of the estimated cost)

REQUESTED ACTION: Have the Fire Board approve to write a grant to the DNR for this equipment.
