To: 51. Joseph City CO~n!;1I - From: Pat Schneider ~c Re: Memorial Park Fund Date: August 20, 1996 Dear Council Members, The 1996 baseball season at Memorial .Park was another busy one. There were 62 baseball games held at the park. Attending these games were many parents and fans who complimented us for the maintenance of this fine baseball facility. There are, however, many concerning remarks for our restroom accommodations. Foul odors and no sinks with running water make them extremely nauseous and uncomfortable to use. I have suggested many times the need for better restrooms as well as making then handicap accessible. - The storage shed that was purchased 4 years ago by Don Schneider and - donated to the city has serious roof damaged from last winter because of vandals. It was reported to the Maintenance Department this past spring and should be repaired soon because the roof leaks. Because of erosion, usage and flooding from well drilling the infield has many dips and valleys. To correct this we need to apply and spread one or two truck loads of agrilime this fall. Because all of our help is back in school I would like to get the assistance of the Maintenance Department if possible. Cost is about $240 per load. The Memorial Park Fund is in need of additional funds and I am requesting the Council to consider budgeting $1,000 to this fund for yearly operation such has chalk, gas, infield repairs, signs, tractor repairs, etc. I want to thank the City Maintenance Department for their enthusiastic and friendly cooperation in helping us maintain Memorial Park. Thank you! Pat cc. Bob Loso - Rachel Stapleton -
