BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Staff will begin working on the 2016 budget shortly and before
any preparation begins, it is important for the Council to discuss goals as they relate to staffing, operation,
and projects. This is meant as a global discussion to start the budget process and is more about what you
want St. Joseph to accomplish in 2016. The Council has already discussed some options for building and
once we have the alternative from HMA the Council can continue the discussion. This will have to be
part of the budget discussion.
Changes in the levy already known:
New Levies: 2014 Park Terrace Improvement will increase the levy $ 115,000
Equipment Certificate depends on the amount of issue
Clinton Village/Northland $ 25,000
Expiring Levies: City Hall, reduction in levy $ 91,500
Equipment Certificate, reduction of $ 25,500
New Debt Colts Academy purchase – Sales Tax Revenue, not levy
