Joseph Planning Commission I June 19, 1991 The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing to consider amendments to the Zoning Ordinance No. 52. Members present: Hub Klein; chairman, S. Kathleen Kalinowski, Dan Nierengarten, Ken Hiemenz, Bud Reber, Linda Viehauser, Kurt Schneider. Others present: Rachel Stapleton; City Clerk/Adm., Stephanie Hazen; Council liaison, John Hazen, Greg Kacures. The hearing was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Rachel Stapleton, Clerk/Administrator, read the notice of hearing. The purpose of the hearing was to consider an amendment to Section 16, subd. 4 which deals with requiring a garage, and increasing the allowable size of garages in R-l zones. Subd. 5 is proposed to increase the lot size and dimensions in R-l zones. Chairman Hub Klein asked for comments. There was no public written or oral testimony. The Planning Commission discussed I the proposed ordinance. Bud Reber made a motion to recommend to the Council to approve an amendment to ordinance No. 52.16, Subd. 5, which establishes minimum lot size in R-l zone at 20,000 sq. ft., minimum lot size when served by approved community sewer and water, 11,000 sq. ft. Average width of not less than 75 feet and an average depth of not less than 125 sq. ft. ; and to recommend to the Council to approve an amendment to section 52.13 which would add the requirement of a private garage of at 'least 20 feet in width and 22 feet in depth. His motion also included to recommend to the Council to approve an amendment to Building Ordinance No. 51, which would require greater responsibility at construction sites. The motion was seconded by Ken Hiemenz. Ayes: Klein, Kalinowski, Nierengarten, Reber, Viehauser, Schneider, Hiemenz. Nayes: None. Motion carried.
