Pursuant tv due call and notice thereof, the Planning
Commission for the City of St, Joseph met in special session
on Monday, September 23, 1991 at 7;30 p. m. in the St. Joseph
City Hali.
Members Present: Chair Hub Klein. Members of the Commission
Sr. Kathleen Kalinowski, Linda Sneizek, Ken Hiemenz, Kurt
Schneider, Dan Nierengarten, Donald "$ud" Reber. Deputy
Clerk Judy Weyrens. Council Liaison $ob Lvso.
Others Present: Stuart Gvldschen
The purpose of the Special meeting was to discuss the type of
housing the development as proposed by Terry Schmid, Avon
Lumber One.
Northland Addition: Terry Schmid requested the Planning
Commission allow revisions to the protective land covenants.
The revision is needed to clarify the minimum floor space of
split level homes. Mr. Schmid would like to reduce the main
level floor space on split levels below 1,000 square feet.
After considerable discussion, Reber made a motion to
recommend to the City Council to approve the change in the
minimum square footage as requested, to a.iiow far FMHA
financing. The motion was seconded by Nierengarten.
Ayes: Klein, Kalinowski, Sneizek, Schneider, Hiemenz,
Nierengarten, Reber.
Nayes: None. Motion Carried 7:0
The Commission disc+assed the plat submitted for Northland and
stressed the importance of retaining a copy of the plat for
the 20 acre development in the City Clerk's Dffice. Mr.
Schmid presented for final plat approval only the plat of the
first 10 acres. Reber made a motion instructing Mr. Schmid
to have filed with the City Clerk's Office the entire 20 acre
plat of Northland Addition, prior to final execution of the
developers agreement. The motion was seconded by
Nierengarten.
Ayes; Klein, Kalinowski, Sneizek, Schneider, Hiemenz,
Nierengarten, Reber.
Nayes: None. Motion Carried 7:0
