The request for va.r ian<::e has been submitted by Gene Scherer.
Peter Giroux, representing Gene Scherer (wintering in
Arizona) , presented the plans for the <::onstruction of a 3
sta 11 gar.age. The garage is needed due to a. recent fire t ha. t
destroyed the eKisting ga. ra.ge. The new proposed ga.ra.ge has
dimensions of 33 .., 24. Mr. S<::herer is requesting the
variance so tha.t he can store his ca. I' , boa t, a.nd a.ntique ca.l'
in the garag8~
Commissioner Reber questioned the set.ba.cks of the g.;;.!.ra.ge if
the va. I" iance request \;,'8 r 8 a.pproved. Hiemenz e;'{pressed
concern on the tota.l amount of foota.ge tha.t wi 1 I be oc<::upied
by buildings if the var i a.n<::e is granted.
Due to the need to have additional informa.tion before a
re<::ommendation can be made, Reber made a motion to table the
v·;;.!. I" i a.nce r8ql_~est unti I the next scheduled meeting. The
motion was se<::onded by Nierengarten.

Fred Sa.nda.l : Fred Sa.nd.3. ¡ , representing the St. Cloud Area
Planning Organization, was present to discuss the future
transportation Pla.n. f'1r. Sandal present.ed the t.ra.nsportation

adverse to the plan, and after' digctjssion~ it ~ja8 deter'mined
that the planning commission ,Ii ill sketch a. transportation
plan and submit it to Fred Sandal for- input.

for the City submitted a proposa. I to change t.he building code

plumbing and mechanical permits. The proposal had a cost
split Qf 80/10 (The Cit)/ reC81'·/ 1 ng 10%) . The Planning
Commission II/as not in fa.vor of the proposal and did not agree
l.,r i t. h the çost sp lit. Hiemenz made a. motiQn to table
indefinitely, the proposed provision for plumbing and
mecha.n i ca. I permits. Additiona.lly, since the Building
InspectQr is under cQntract \>1 i t h the City at a 72/25 sp lit,
his fee should not be i ncr8~.s8d. to 80/10. The motion Has
seconded by Nierengarten.

The Planning Commission discussed Pond View Ridge and the
Lift Sta.tion tha.t wi I 1 be required in Future phases'l The
Commission felt that this issue should be addressed in the
developers agreement.
