VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH, PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING (SPECIAL MEETING)
The following commission members were present: Mrs. Robert Kelly

The following Village Council members were present Mr. George Gustin
(mayer elect) fiœ. Herman Schnieder, Mr. Richard Schroeder, and Mr.
Roman Reber.
"Mrs. Kelly stated that she had received a call from the St. Joseph
Township Planning Commission, explaining that they wished to meet
with the Village Planning Commission, to present ther plans as to the
Zoning Ordinance they are planning to put into effect.
Mr. Arnold Eveslage the Township clerk introduced the members of the
Township Planning Commission, Mr. Gene Scherer, ('chI' . ) Nr. Bob
Bloomquist, Mr. Al Theisen, 1'11'. Felix l\1assmann, Mr. Jerry Rennie,
Mr. Don Pfannenstein, Mr. Al Torborg, and also the Township Engineer
fill' . Carley.
Mr. Carley presented a zoning map of the Township, stating thet the
zoning of the Township was in the prelimiary stage, and that chafugesC'
would be consided if the property owners'- of the Township and the
officials of the Village were not~satisfied with the present plan. He
also stated that a detailed study of the Tb~mship and its buildings
was uBdertaken before any zoning plans were made , They also had a
meeting with the County Board and the plans didnot conflict with any
they had, and they also sta,ted that they did not have a detail version
of each township.
Mr. Carley ststed that the Township would be zoned as to Single Family
Multiple Family, Business,Bl, B2, BJ, Light; Indus~y and Heavy Indusffy.
When a Special Use Permit' is used for a business, the property will
return to it,s former statllswhen the business is termated, end that
a variance would be granted only when certain qualifiction as designated
- in the Zoning Ordinance are first meet. He also stated that main object
of the Ordinance was to protect the property owner and home owner. N6
plans for a perk were being considered at the present time, but plans
for sanitary sewer would have to be considered because of th~ population
growth in the area, and for the time being the lots should not be less
than 100' x 120' in size, Mr. Carley st8 ted.
The only ojection the Village Planning Commission had concering the
zODing map was the large area zoned heavy industy, north and east of
the feed mill.
l1r . Carley stated that the map 1'Vould on disp19Y and that a meeting
with the general public would take place in Jan. 1970.
